I’m getting married in a place called Forte de Cruz in Estoril (next to Lisbon). The venue is incredible, it’sa castle… on the beach! How exciting is that? Obviously, I’ve had very little input in the planning (I get shouted at as soon as I want to change anything) it seems all I have to do is show up on the day 😆luckilymy fiancée seems to have it all under control and we’re set for the big day on 1st October 2024 –
Less interestingly, my visa is due for the first renewal next month, so I’ll be having to take a trip to AIMA for a new residency card beforehand.
Anyway, please find my Golden Visa updates below- please don’t hesitate to ask if any questions and I’ll always reply as soon as possible.
The Golden Visa programme is OPEN
It was almost six months ago now when the Portugal government confirmed the programme is staying. But with so much misunderstanding online, I still have people telling me they thought the programme had closed. There is still a lot of misinformation online from when the media outlets painted the town red with the news of it closing back in March 2023.
To avoid any confusion, the Golden Visa programme remains open and seemingly in demand more than ever. The only change in the end, was the option to invest into property, as means to qualify for the visa, was removed. Pretty much everything else is the same.
There is currently no talk of the programme closing or changing in the foreseeable future. If it is something you plan to do however, my advice is always to do so whilst you can as we never know for sure what the future holds.
The largest percentage of applications are investing via regulated and qualifying investment funds or choosing to purchase capital share in existing Portuguese companies (that support job creation in the country). Investment fund-linked GV approvals were up 77% between 2021 and 2023, with that figure expected to rise sharply in 2024.
There are many sectorswithin Portugal that investors can opt to invest into and unlike property, these routes have no stamp duty applicable, saving up to 35k EUR of initial capital outlay. Furthermore, the process of investing is much simpler, allowing clients to submit their GV application sooner.
The option of donating 250,000 EUR is still possible (still yet to see any applications for a donation strangely) or investment from 500,000 EUR.
I’ll be covering all the different investment options on Thursday, including investing into funds, existing capital share and hospitality.
You can qualify with an investment of325,000 EUR – you heard it here first! ***
One unique aspect of what Holborn has been able to offer, is the option to qualify with just 400,000 EUR. This includes an investment of 500,000 EUR to qualify for the visa, however 100,000 EUR of that being paid as an upfront return from the investment. The is something offered exclusively by Holborn Assets, not available through any provider or fund manager.
Now, being the largest provider of Golden Visa investments in Portugal, I’m excited to announce that shortly I’ll be able to discuss an investment option, that will allow you to qualify with only 325,000 EUR of your own capital.
The investment will also have anoptional, but guaranteed exit of 500,000 EUR in year 6 (when youexpect to have your permanent visa and/or passport issued).0020
The investment will be of extremely limited availability – if you would like more details on this, along with similar investment options, please schedule a meeting with mehere – Calendar.
